ACCORDING TO A LAWYER, THE HOTLINE HE ESTABLISHED FOR DIDDY ABUSE CLAIMS GOT 12,000 CALLS IN 24 HOURS
According to a lawyer handling Diddy's prosecution case, a hotline he established produced remarkable outcomes in a single day. Sean "Diddy" Combs was arrested on September 16 and is presently incarcerated on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. The music mogul is presently battling claims of abuse against hundreds of people over his career. After his imprisonment, 120 people came forward, and he retaliated through his attorney.
"As Mr. Combs' legal team has underlined, he cannot answer every meritless claim in what has become a reckless media circus," his lawyer Erica Wolff stated. "That being said, Mr. Combs completely and vehemently denies any allegation that he sexually molested anyone, especially children, as untrue and defamatory." In court, where the truth will be determined based on facts rather than conjecture, "he looks forward to demonstrating his innocence and vindicating himself." However, after a lawyer on the case disclosed that 12,000 people made claims within 24 hours of the rapper's hotline being launched, it appears that he has a lot more accusations to contend with.
At least 25 of the plaintiffs in the impending lawsuits against the discredited rap artist were children at the time, according to Tony Buzbee, the main lawyer. He revealed that these lawsuits would include specifics of Diddy's alleged sexual assault on a nine-year-old child and the assault of a pregnant woman, among other disturbing and fresh revelations. In addition to hearing the horrifying specifics of his alleged crimes, the public can anticipate hearing about prominent celebrities who allegedly colluded with the musician. He told Law & Crime how many individuals have come forward since he said they were setting up a hotline for tips, and he explained why he believes so many people have spoken out.
Tony thinks that it was the series of events during the investigation and arrest that led to people feeling safe to tell their story. He claimed that "I believe such circumstances led to more and more calls" when the "arrest occurred and then when bail was denied." "The floodgates truly opened when I announced that I was going to pursue these cases," he explained. We received 3,200 calls in around ten days, and since yesterday's press presentation, we've received 12,000 calls, I believe, in roughly twenty-four hours.
He now has the "Herculean challenge of trying to filter through every one of these calls and make sure that we are identifying individuals who are victims and those who are witnesses" as a result of the overwhelming number of responses to his information request. From then on, they will need to ‘collect evidence’. The task is going to be enormous for the lawyer.
He shared: “We have about almost a hundred people working on this task. The 120 that we announced yesterday, those are claims that we could file right now against Sean Combs, but we're trying to make sure that when we file the cases- and they're going to be filed on an individual basis- that we include every potentially liable party.”
Now, these parties include those who benefited from Diddy’s alleged crimes, whether they watched, participated, profited from or provided the venue for it to occur.
