ARTIST CREATES INCREDIBLE SHIBA INU INSPIRED BANK NOTES BRING CUTENESS TO SPENDING
Japan's Ministry of Finance unveiled new designs for the country's yen banknotes earlier this year. The Great Wave, a famous woodblock print by Hokusai, and a depiction of Mount Fuji are among the new designs to be released in 2024. The imaginative currency inspired Japanese cartoonist and manga artist Ponkichi to create his own banknotes, which featured the Shiba Inu, one of Japan's most beloved dog breeds.
Ponkichi's 1,000 yen (US$9.31) note, which featured a confidently positioned pooch, ornamental swirls, and a paw print watermark, was so well-liked that the artist chose to expand the series with a 500 yen note. His second design, which portrays a cute group of five puppies, honours the smaller Mame Shiba Inu breed. We're confident that Japan would gladly exchange its coins for this adorable cash even though the country doesn't actually have a 500-yen note.
Although Ponkichi's illustrations won't be turned into actual banknotes, you can purchase them printed on a variety of products through FurBaby, such as memo pads, phone cases, and even towels.
