LIP READER SHARES WHAT COLIN JOST COULD HAVE SAID AFTER MORGAN WALLEN WALKED OFF SNL STAGE
Viewers of Saturday Night Live were shocked when Morgan Wallen exited the stage on March 29. After making his SNL debut in 2020, Wallen was the most recent musical guest on the well-liked comedy program. The only person Wallen seemed to talk to before leaving the stage quickly at the end of the event, before the credits had rolled, was Anora actor Mikey Madison, who was the celebrity host. The host, musical guest, and other SNL cast members typically remain on stage and converse with one another as the credits rolled, but Wallen seemed hurried.
Since then, SNL employees have spoken out about the experience, claiming that the country music artist had a "tantrum" backstage. "He walked in with a chip on his shoulder and was unprofessional the entire time," they said in an interview with the Daily Mail. He pitched a fit because he believed that he was a huge celebrity who should be treated as though they were fortunate to have him. The individual claimed that the singer was "blackballed from ever coming on SNL again" as a result of his behavior.
Although Wallen's actions have drawn a lot of criticism, a lip reader claimed that veteran SNL performer Colin Jost seemed to have a little more empathy for Saturday night's musical guest.
On behalf of Slingo, lip reader Nicola Hicking said that Jost seemed to tell his co-star, "You gotta' remember how he is feeling," in the footage of the credits rolling out after Wallen had marched off.
Following his hasty evacuation, Wallen shared a post to his Instagram Story from the airport runway with the caption saying 'bring me to God's nation'. He's since developed his own variety of goods with his newly-created catchphrase on it. The cost of the headwear is £35 ($45), and a t-shirt with the message on it costs £45 ($58).
According to Billboard, Wallen made the announcement on April 1 and his staff has since reassured supporters that the merchandise isn't an April Fool's hoax. When the singer's official Instagram fan page, Club Wallen, posted about the new clothes, someone questioned whether it was a joke. A member of the team who runs the account replied: "No but we see how you’d get there."
