PHOTOGRAPHER TAKES CUTE PICTURES OF MORE THAN 150 BABY ANIMALS

Joel Sartore has spent almost two decades documenting every kind of animal that inhabits a zoo, aquarium, or wildlife refuge. All of this is a part of Photo Ark's objective to raise awareness of endangered species. Sartore has written a new book that concentrates on the numerous infant animals he has taken pictures of while travelling.

National Geographic Press's Photo Ark Babies has more than 150 animals from all across the world. Sartore's photographs, which range from an 8-week-old white Bengal tiger to 100-day-old panda pups, provide a stunning look at how future generations will continue to preserve endangered species.

A brief description of the infant animal, such as any unique markings they outgrow or how they protect themselves while they wait for their mother to bring food, is included with each photo. Sartore is fascinated by these facts and behaviours because they demonstrate the innate survival instincts that keep these animals safe.

Sartore, however, is well aware of the strength these infant animals possess because of their attractive looks. In order to improve the state of our planet, he thinks that this will inspire people to think more deeply about the species that need to be saved.

In this book, he writes, "I wonder what the future holds for the babies." Will they touch enough emotions to motivate us to finally make the world a better place? Will humans recognise the gift that this is and begin to preserve the untamed areas that elephants and all other animals depend on to survive and raise their young? I sincerely hope so. After all, we are protecting ourselves when we save other species.
