A CAPTIVATING FLEET OF 8,100 DRONES SMASHES THE RECORD FOR THE MOST DRONES FLOWN SIMULTANEOUSLY

China is considered to have invented fireworks some 2,000 years ago, and the nation currently sets the standard for innovative light displays. A remarkable fleet of 8,100 drones took to the skies on September 5 in Shenzhen, China, setting a new Guinness World Record for the most drones flying at once. Viewers at the Shenzhen University Sports Centre were mesmerised by the amazing eighteen-minute drone show's intricate light formations, which included globes, swirling patterns, and hearts, among other things. It was amazing how well everything was coordinated, creative, and detailed; you can only imagine how much planning was involved in making it happen. Even more astounding is that Shenzhen set a new world record with the September 5 show—the second in as many days. The previous evening, on September 4, the organisers used 7,998 drones to create the largest light image, setting a new record. HighGreat is a company that specialises in three-dimensional drone formation performances, and they created both of these shows. The group has produced thousands of drone performances in more than 300 cities worldwide with a fleet of more than 60,000 drones. View the video snippets from both programs below, and visit HighGreat's website to learn more about their drone shows.
