BON JOVI SAVES WOMAN FROM THE LEDGE OF BRIDGE IN NASHVILLE
On Tuesday, September 10, in Nashville, legendary rock star and all-around nice guy Jon Bon Jovi was able to talk a woman down from the edge of the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. The musician and a member of his crew can be seen cautiously approaching the woman in blue who was standing on the bridge's edge and holding onto the railing during the tense moment, which was caught on camera.
While on location, Bon Jovi and his group were recording a music video for the song "The People's House." But during the filming, the bridge was still accessible to the general public. In the video, the woman in blue is seen being slowly approached by Bon Jovi and an unidentified production assistant, who greets her with a wave. She waves back, and Bon Jovi leans carelessly against the railing of the bridge as they start talking.
The three parties' conversation is still unclear because no sound was captured on camera. Nevertheless, the woman was quickly convinced to head for safety. In the video, the woman is seen being talked to and gently stroked on the back by Bon Jovi's production assistant before she turns around and consents to cross the railing.
The woman is then helped over the other side by both Bon Jovi and the assistant, who each grab one of her arms to lead her across. The group spends some more time together on the bridge after they're safe, and Bon Jovi gives the woman a comforting hug. Honouring the woman's right to privacy, Bon Jovi has declined to discuss the incident with the media out of respect for the person involved.
Social media users are praising Bon Jovi as a "hero" and a "saint" for his prompt and considerate action. That being said, this isn't the first time the rock star has shown kindness. He opened two restaurants in 2019 that provide free meals to those in need. He's even renowned for spending time there doing the dishwashing.
