BEN AFFLECK BREAK HIS SILENCE AFTER HIS 'EMBARRASSING' DIVORCE WITH JENNIFER LOPEZ

The divorce between Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez was finalized two months ago, and although we have heard from the singer a few times, Affleck's team has not responded. Until now, however, the 52-year-old has officially spoken out about what he has called an "embarrassing" breakup with his ex-lover after just two years of marriage.

In August, shortly after it was revealed that Affleck had not attended the 55-year-old's birthday celebration, which was attended by a number of famous people, Lopez filed for divorce in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing "irreconcilable differences."

The Accountant star was questioned about their split in an interview with GQ. Initially, they were questioned about a documentary called The Greatest Love Story Never Told, in which they both appear. "Well, on the one hand, there's the first feeling, which is like, well, I hope I was clear about, when you asked me about Jen and the documentary and I talked about that and my sort of personal life, which I don't mind doing as long as my actual feelings and intentions and beliefs are communicated," he said in response to a question about their most recent conversation.

"And I find myself wanting to divine or investigate the kinds of viewpoint gaps that exist between us regarding how someone feels at ease drawing the boundary between their private and public lives. However, I sincerely hope that anything you use doesn't imply that I'm judgmental, negative, or anything else related to that. All I have is respect."

He went on: "I suppose there's a propensity to look at breakups and try to pinpoint the underlying reasons or anything. However, as I mentioned before, the fact is far more commonplace than most people would think or find fascinating. Before going on to say that the entire experience made him feel "embarrassed."

"Yeah, there’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue. The truth is, when you talk to somebody, 'Hey, what happened?', well, there is no: 'This is what happened'. "It’s just a story about people trying to figure out their lives and relationships in ways that we all sort of normally do. And as you get older, this is true for me, I assume it’s true for most people, there is no 'So-and-so did this' or 'This was the big event'. "It’s really, it sounds more like a couple’s therapy session, which—you would tune out of someone else’s couple’s therapy after a while."

Before adding: "For one thing, you start going, 'Okay, clearly this person has got these issues. Clearly they have these issues, and the reason I don’t want to share that is just sort of embarrassing. It feels vulnerable."
