BRUTAL THREE WORD RESPONSE FROM JOE ROGAN ON MIKE TYSON PERFORMANCE
Joe Rogan responded to the outcome of Jake Paul's victory over former fighter Mike Tyson with a harsh tweet. Since Paul and Tyson's fight at 4 am, which attracted a great deal of attention, it has been an incredible journey. The two faced off at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which was streamed on Netflix and watched by millions of people online in addition to the roughly 70,000 spectators in the stadium.
Due in large part to their interactions, Iron Mike was flagged by many as the possible winner, but it has been a bumpy ride. Tyson decided to take it upon himself to put Paul down by slapping him across the face while he was talking a lot during their weigh-ins.
But it wasn't meant to be. Tyson landed 18 punches from 97 thrown (18 percent), while the 27-year-old was able to land 78 punches from 278 thrown (28 percent).
This demonstrated that the age gap between them had a significant impact on the bout, as boxing fans were disappointed not to see Tyson at his best. But then there was Rogan, who was just as angry.
Before the bout began, Rogan, the host of the well-liked podcast The Joe Rogan Experience and a UFC commentator, tweeted: "I'm getting ready to watch this Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight like I'm watching someone cast a spell that I hope actually works. But, I don't think magic exists. But I want to believe.”
However, he responded with three words when the results were revealed.
“Magic isn't real.”
Like many others, Tyson was devastated by the outcome, and everyone who supported him went through a difficult period. Paul even gave him a compliment outside of the ring, suggesting that the fighters are on good terms.
Paul acknowledged that he deliberately decided not to knock out Tyson, despite the fact that the two have since been suspended because of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation's regulations.
Tyson "didn't need to be hurt," he said.
According to BBC Sport, he didn’t want to hurt him.
"I wanted to give the fans a show, but I didn't want to hurt someone that didn't need to be hurt," he was cited as saying. He then replied, "I did, a little bit," to the suggestion made by former professional boxer Andre Ward that Paul had been carrying Tyson during the fight.
I really respect him, but I could tell he was getting old because he wasn't really responding. I wanted to knock him down and do other things after he slapped me, but as the fight continued, those feelings subsided.
Overall, he only wanted to give the fans something entertaining to watch and didn't want to do anything unnecessary.
