DONALD TRUMP REVOKES MAJOR RIGHT ALL FORMER PRESIDENTS HAD

Since Joe Biden "could not be trusted," Donald Trump has just revoked a significant privilege that all previous presidents have enjoyed. Trump's goal is to restructure the majority of his predecessor's policies and usher in what he calls "America's golden age" during his presidency. Trump now says he is removing the former president's security clearance and daily intelligence briefing access because he can't "be trusted," seemingly in a jab at Biden.

The Republican went on to joke, "JOE, YOU'RE FIRED," a reference to his catchphrase from the television program The Apprentice, which he has been using a lot lately to fire some of Biden's former government employees. Trump's move coincides with his accusation that Biden had blocked him from the briefings for the first time during his 2021 administration. "He instructed the Intelligence Community (IC) to stop the 45th President of the United States (ME!) from accessing details on National Security, a courtesy provided to former Presidents," he wrote, stating that Biden "set this precedent."

Trump also asserted that Biden "could not be trusted with sensitive information," referencing an investigation into classified file storage that revealed the 82-year-old had memory problems. He wrote: "The Hur Report showed that Biden had a "poor memory" and was unreliable with sensitive information even when he was "prime." I'll defend our national security no matter what."

As a courtesy, all former presidents are invited to attend classified intelligence briefings; however, Biden denied Trump access in 2021. Biden claimed that the decision was made because of Trump's "erratic behaviour," adding, "What good is it to give him an intelligence briefing? Apart from the possibility that he might make a mistake and say something, what effect does he have at all? Numerous former CIA directors and dozens of other former intelligence officers have also had their security clearances revoked by Trump, who has accused them of influencing the 2020 election in favor of Biden. Mark Milley, a senior US military commander and outspoken opponent of the president, is among those dismissed.

According to the BBC, Milley's military-grade has been reviewed and an investigation into his "conduct" has been ordered by Pete Hegseth, the new defence secretary. Anthony Fauci, the president's former chief medical adviser, has also lost access to security information. Trump insisted that it was "very standard" to remove such individuals from the right, even though Fauci led the US response to the coronavirus pandemic.
