JOHNNY DEPP SOLD OUT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER FIRST DEBUT OF HIS ART COLLECTION
"Multi-million dollar-selling artist" is now an addition to actor Johnny Depp's resume. He recently made a whopping $3.6 million from the sale of 780 prints at London's Castle Fine Art Gallery, which sold out "almost immediately." Four portraits of Keith Richards, Elizabeth Taylor, Al Pacino, and Bob Dylan are included in Depp's Friends & Heroes collection. They were made in a bold, graphic style, with sections of the portrait being outlined with expressive mark-making.
According to the gallery, the series honours four individuals that "[Depp] has known well, and who have inspired him as a person." In Johnny's eyes, each picture is a personal representation of who they are and how they have shown themselves to him. This also applies to his career.
From his close friend Keith Richards, who inspired the notorious Captain Jack Sparrow's demeanour, to Bob Dylan, whose artistic impact on the artist is evident in his striking and timeless portrayal by Johnny, Castle Fine Art goes on. Friends & Heroes was Castle Fine Art's best-selling collection to date and the first print release in history. The set of four prints sold for $15,040, while the individual prints sold for $3,973.
