HANDMADE COCKTAIL DRESS MADE WITH OVER 2 000 PENNIES
Some people utilise their change to make amazing things, while others might decide to save it in a piggy bank. In her most recent handmade creation, a dazzling cocktail dress with cross-back straps and a bottom fringe, artist Shay Rose (also known as Crescent Shay) used more than 2,000 coins.
The maker, who is 22 years old, is well-known on social media for her creative endeavours, such as her clothing that changes when exposed to light. Shay gathered hundreds of pennies for this project, cleaned them well, and then bored holes in the sides. This made it possible for her to stitch these copper pieces together to make the dress's bodice and skirt.
Shay showcased the shiny look of the coins in sunlight by modelling the finished garment in her Instagram pictures. The 2,652 pennies combine to give the impression of sequins from a distance. On the other hand, if you examine the dress closely, you can see how carefully Shayhas woven each penny into a tidy chainmail design. The striking gown might easily be mistaken for a Great Gatsby costume from the 1920s.
