IDENTICAL TWINS SEPARATED AT BIRTH ENDS UP LIVING IDENTICAL LIFE
Identical twins who were separated at birth and placed for adoption demonstrated their genetic similarity when they first met at the age of 39. Despite the fact that their adoptive parents gave them the name James, the two of them preferred to be called Jim. This brings us to the amazing tale of Jim Lewis and Jim Springer, popularly referred to as "the Jim twins."
Never in my life have I written to Jim so frequently. The Ohio natives were informed at birth that they had a twin but that their brother had passed away; Lewis learned of this at age five, while Springer learned of it at age eight. They didn't even blink for the next thirty years. They only lived 40 miles apart, so the first thing they had in common was something they couldn't control—their names—which we've already covered. After meeting and marrying a woman named Linda, they both fell in love twice.
Jim and the other Jim divorced their respective Lindas because, regrettably, that didn't work out for either of them. Then Jim met Betty, and Jim found a woman named Betty, and they were married. Yes, Springer and Lewis married different Lindas and Bettys before they ever met. The two men also found that they liked the same brand of cigarettes and beer, which further demonstrates their similarities.
They both drew the same thing when asked to participate in a scientific study, and they had strikingly similar results on tests meant to determine their medical histories and personalities.
Luckily, there are some differences; otherwise, this would be a very unsettling story. One twin, Jim, ended up marrying a woman named Sandy for the third time, something that the other Jim did not do.
At the age of 39, the Jim Twins were reunited in February 1979.
Several instances of twins having children on the same day as their sibling are among the other startling instances of twins leading remarkably similar lives. Perhaps your long-lost identical twin is out there, leading a nearly identical life to yours. However, we don't think a story like this will be this similar.
