ITALIAN GYMNAST GOES VIRAL FOR PARMESAN SPONSORSHIP
Giorgia Villa, an Italian gymnast, has already made an impression at the Olympics by taking home a silver medal in the team competition. Although it's a noteworthy accomplishment, it's not the main cause of her becoming the town talk. A strange fact about her past was recently discovered by fans: she once signed a contract to endorse Parmesan cheese, which included a picture shoot with large wheels of the cheese.
The group that makes authentic Parmesan cheese, Parmigiano Reggiano, arranged the sponsorship agreement. Villa is not the only athlete they have collaborated with; they have also created campaigns featuring Paralympic swimmer Giulia Ghiretti, NBA player Nico Mannion, and tennis player Jannik Sinner. A statement from the Italian marketing firm Impresa e Sport announcing the endorsement agreement states, "The very young athlete, spearhead of the national gymnastics team, has become the brand's new ambassador, with all the enthusiasm and freshness of her splendid age."
"When it comes to authenticity, quality, and energetic value—both in physical activity and proper nutrition—Parmagno Reggiano and the world of sports are inextricably linked."
