LOVING FATHER GETS TATTOO TO MATCH HIS THE SCAR OF THE LIFE SAVING SURGERY HIS SON HAD
When it comes to making their children feel loved, parents will do anything. Eric Conklin, who lives in New York, had to get a tattoo that matched the scar on his son's chest. Bennet, his young son, was admitted to the pediatric cardiac intensive care unit for more than a month after being born with a congenital heart problem. Bennet underwent seven surgeries within that little period, leaving him with a lengthy scar running down his chest.
Conklin's tattoo, which has a long scar shape over his upper tummy and in the middle of his chest, is a perfect match for the scar his son has had since he was born. He received it as a tribute to young Bennet's struggle for survival and as a reminder to his kid that he will never have to confront that struggle alone. Conklin posted on Instagram, saying, "I have a tattoo that is more significant to me than anything else I will ever get on my body." "I wanted him to understand that he is never fighting this battle alone. His survival story is told through his scar. I swear that I will carry anything he bears.
Fortunately, Bennet is currently recuperating at home, and Conklin hopes that their experience may provide solace to other families dealing with comparable difficulties. "This isn't simply a tattoo," he explains, "it's a call to consciousness about congenital heart abnormalities and an homage to my son's bravery." I want everyone to know that we are not alone in the silent struggles that so many families face every day. "You are my hero, Benny," he continues. We're wearing the same gear now.
