MUSK EXPOSES BIGGEST SOURCES OF FRAUD IN THE WORLD

According to Elon Musk, 'one of the major sources of fraud in the world' has been created by a 'loophole' in the government. Musk, the president's so-called "First Buddy" and head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), is determined to cut bureaucracy and uncover fraud to save the federal government money. DOGE has been responsible for several contentious actions during its extreme cost-cutting drive, such as sacking and rehiring more than 100 government employees in two weeks and threatening to fire government employees who failed to respond to emails. And amid DOGE's attack on foreign aid, the Inter-American Foundation has only one person running its operations.

During a sit-down interview with Fox Business this week, Musk was asked to "demystify" how DOGE is eliminating waste. He then criticized foreign aid programs for allegedly having a "loophole" that has manipulated the system to squander hundreds of thousands of dollars. While President Donald Trump acknowledged that USAID's spending "is absolutely inexplicable," the billionaire internet tycoon has previously called the United States Agency for International Development a "criminal organization" and declared it was "time for it to go." The CEO of Tesla went on to tell the news source that DOGE "follows the money" and began investigating USAID "because they were absolutely breaking the president's executive orders to suspend foreign aid."

"You know, what's called foreign aid but in our view is a lot of corruption."

Musk alleged DOGE discovered vast sums of money being sent to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in a 'gigantic fraud loophole'. "I think one of the biggest sources of fraud in the world is government-funded non-governmental organizations," he said.

There is a massive fraud gap whereby the government may fund an NGO without any oversight, and billions of dollars—we estimate tens of billions of dollars—are handed to NGOs that are basically frauds. Additionally, we're working to stop it. According to reports, the independent US foreign aid organization Inter-American Foundation employed about 48 people before DOGE reduced it to the "statutory minimum" of only one. Since its creation by Congress in 1969, the organization has invested around $950 million in development initiatives throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Meanwhile, USAID, which was set up in the 1960's remains the largest humanitarian operator around the world - yet makes up only a small slice of government spending, at less than one percent of the federal budget.

But on Monday (March 10), Secretary of State Marco Rubio disclosed that 5,200 contracts have already been canceled and that 83 percent of USAID programs are on the chopping block. After it was discovered that they had "spent tens of billions of dollars in ways that did not serve, (and in some cases even hurt), the key national interests of the United States," they were fired. He continued by saying, "We are grateful to DOGE and our dedicated employees who put in countless hours to accomplish this long-overdue and historic reform." According to The Guardian, this comes after a US judge ordered the reinstatement of about 500 USAID employees and temporarily suspended over 2,000 others from being placed on leave.

Musk also told Fox that detecting "fake" or stolen social security claims could save an additional half a trillion dollars annually and that more precise audits in the Treasury could save an additional $100 billion. As a further example of DOGE's effectiveness, he stated, "We post the receipts."
