NIKE RELEASE FIRST EVER POWERED FOOTWEAR TO INCREASE SPEED AND DISTANCE
For many years, Nike has led the way in athletic clothing and footwear as an activewear firm, and as technology advances, they keeps coming up with new ideas. Project Amplify, their most recent initiative, takes things a step further. Bringing robotics into the equation, Project Amplify is praised as the world’s first powered footwear system for jogging and walking, allowing users to travel faster and farther with less effort.
This product, which was created in collaboration with the bionic clothing and footwear company Dephy, enhances the natural movement of the ankle and lower leg. According to Nike, the gadget is like "a second set of calf muscles." It has an ankle brace-like design and is equipped with a rechargeable cuff battery, a drive belt, and a small but powerful motor. A running shoe that may be worn with or without the brace smoothly interacts with the entire system.
Nike did not design Project Amplify with professional players in mind, despite it being the newest sports technology. Rather, it aims to increase the number of millions of ordinary people who use its products on a daily basis. Since anyone with a body is considered an athlete by Nike, there is no distinction in who is eligible. Nike tested it on 400 athletes of various skill levels and intensities for this reason.
The company says, "Nike is developing Project Amplify to make slower running, jogging, and walking easier and more fun, with a focus on athletes running between a 10- to 12-minute mile pace, much like electric bikes have made it easier to ride farther and more frequently, revolutionising urban commuting."
Nike is focusing on new advancements in areas like cognitive science and enhanced cooling, while Project Amplify is still being tested. "Project Amplify is the next step in our long-held belief that movement is medicine. Michael Donaghu, VP of Create The Future, Emerging Sport, and Innovation at Nike, says, "It's a daring step ahead, crossing a new boundary of putting power straight into your stride." "Whatever'more' means to you, the fun comes from knowing you can do more than you imagined you could."
