WOMAN SCAMMED OUT OF $850,000 AFTER BEING SCAMMED TO BELIEVE RELATIONSHIP WITH BRAD PITT

Anne, a French woman, revealed that she had been defrauded of thousands of euros that she thought would cover the actor's "cancer treatment." According to BFM TV, "Pitt" initially contacted the interior designer after she received a message on Instagram in February 2023 from a user posing as the star's mother. Soon after, she received another message from the same person posing as Pitt himself.

"In fact, we're talking about Brad Pitt, I'm falling from the clouds," Anne said in an interview with TF1, expressing her surprise at the message. I initially convince myself that it's not real, but I'm not entirely sure what's going on with me. Following that, we will communicate daily and develop a friendship.

Men who write you this kind of thing are extremely rare. I was conversing with a man I liked. He had excellent conversational skills with women. After courting her with declarations and poetry, the two started dating, and the account holder eventually asked Anne to marry him. The phoney account then sent Anne AI-generated pictures of Pitt in the hospital, one of which showed him holding a sign that read, "Anne, I love you," and claimed that they couldn't afford "cancer treatment" because of the divorce proceedings between Pitt and his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie.

In addition, the account promised her opulent presents in exchange for her €9,000 customs fee, which BFM TV claims she never received. Additionally, Pitt's representatives have now responded to the matter. "It's terrible that scammers exploit the close relationship between fans and celebrities," they said in an interview with The Independent.

"It is crucial to remember not to reply to unsolicited online messages, particularly when they come from actors who are not active on social media." Only in the summer of 2024, after seeing images of the Fight Club star with his new girlfriend, Ines de Ramon, online, did Anne come to the terrible conclusion that the account did not belong to Pitt.

By this point, she had lost almost one million euros to the scammer and reported the incident to police. Anne was hospitalised for severe depression, according to BFM TV, and it's still unclear if she was able to get back some of the money.
