SHOCKING FORMULA SHOWS HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE TO REACH THE WEALTH OF JEFF BEZOS
Given that Jeff Bezos is among the wealthiest individuals on the planet, it is understandable that it would require a substantial sum of money for the typical person to overtake him.
However, it's probably even more than you initially imagined. Jeff Bezos is extremely wealthy. It would be difficult for you to visualise $204 billion if you tried to picture his net worth. He is currently ranked number three on Forbes' list of the world's billionaires in real time, behind only Elon Musk ($269.8 billion) and Larry Ellison ($207 billion).
People have been doing math after reading a recent post on the social media site Reddit, the thread is appropriately named ‘r/theydidthemath’.
The image is a screenshot of an old tweet that said, "Tell me something I don't know," and featured a woman taking a picture. "Even if you were to make $7,000 every hour of every day since the birth of Jesus Christ, you still wouldn't be as wealthy as Jeff Bezos," a user wrote below.
Similar social media posts have been shared by others for years, with many concluding that making $7,000 per hour would equal approximately $123.8 billion. Even though some people may have done the math, it's not quite right because Bezos hasn't been worth that little since around 2019. If you wanted to even have a chance of catching him right now, you would probably need to make a lot more money per hour.
Thus, if you want to meet the billionaire anytime soon, you had better take on that extra shift at work. But I'm afraid you wouldn't match him even if you pulled your socks up and put on your best working cap. Furthermore, it's estimated that Bezos would need to spend $1 million every day for approximately 544 years before running out of money.
The 60-year-old billionaire techie earned an estimated $7.9 million per hour in 2023 or $191.78 million daily. In roughly 12.76 minutes or 0.21 hours, he made $1.7 million. Put another way, Bezos makes less than 13 minutes worth of pay for the same work as the average US worker does in their lifetime.
