AFTER INCREDIBLE DISCOVERY SIBLINGS CLAIMS THEIR FATHER COULD BE THE MYSTERIOUS DB COOPER
The identity of DB Cooper is still unknown more than fifty years after the infamous "skyjacking." However, an amateur detective claims that shocking new evidence may finally provide some insight into the unsolved case that has perplexed investigators since 1971. According to Dan Gryder, he managed to obtain the parachute that the elusive hijacker used to execute his complex escape from the Boeing 727 aircraft 53 years ago.
The identity of DB Cooper remains unknown despite the creation of a Netflix documentary about the well-known case, DNA discoveries, and the opinions of innumerable experts. On November 24, 1971, the unidentified person boarded Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 305, which was travelling from Portland, Oregon, to Seattle, Washington.
At the ticket desk, the "nondescript" man paid cash for his one-way ticket and introduced himself as Dan Cooper. While travelling, he told a flight attendant that he was carrying a bomb and then demanded four parachutes and $200,000, which is more than £1 million in today's currency. Upon receiving the ransom and permitting the passengers to disembark in Seattle, he directed personnel to replenish the aircraft's fuel and restart its engines.
The mystery man opened the plane's door and parachuted out into the night somewhere over southwestern Washington about half an hour after the plane took off for the second time.
A tie from the US retail chain JCPenney was the only identifying clue found at the scene. As a result, investigators had to rely mostly on the testimony of passengers on the Northwest Orient Airlines flight.
