Annihilation was originally a novel written by Jeff VanderMeer. The novel was a trilogy and supported a very creative storyline that seems to switch between ordinary reality and a strange extraterrestrial experience due to a comet strike. The comet brings along a peculiar form of DNA altering properties that mutate life on Earth and the outcome is a combination of stunning beauty but also releases horrors like something out of a nightmare!

Movie director Alex Garland fell in love with the book and worked hard with his innovative and creative team to bring the story to cinema and their professional execution of the project was mindblowing!
