CHELSEA FANS ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL AFTER FACING INJURIES BEFORE NAPOLI LEAGUE GAME
On Tuesday night in Naples, two Chelsea fans were admitted to the hospital due to non-life-threatening injuries. One was treated for a wound at the Vecchio Pellegrini hospital following an incident near the Santa Maria La Nova neighbourhood in Naples, according to Italian police who spoke to Sky Sports News. Since then, the supporter has been released.
The supporter was among a group of Chelsea supporters who were later confronted by another group of people, according to police.
The Blues are in the Italian city in preparation for their Wednesday night Champions League matchup with Napoli. Chelsea has advised all visiting supporters to obey club instructions and exercise "extreme caution" prior to the game. For the Champions League match, the Blues have been allotted 2,500 away tickets. "The club is aware of an incident that took place on Tuesday evening in Naples," a statement from Chelsea said on Tuesday night.
"Two fans are being treated in hospital, having sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The club would like to remind all supporters to exercise extreme caution whilst in the city and take note of the advice shared ahead of this fixture."
