HAALAND LEFT OUT OF MAN CITY LINEUP AGAIN WOLVES
Erling Haaland, the league's top scorer, was kept out of the starting lineup for Saturday's home match against Wolverhampton Wanderers by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who had recently stated that his valued striker was "exhausted."
The Norwegian has only scored once in his last eight games after having a scorching start to the season with 39 goals in 36 appearances for both club and country. He also played poorly in their 2-0 derby loss at Manchester United on Saturday, hobbling off before halftime. Haaland expressed regret to fans for the team's 3-1 Champions League away defeat to Bodo/Glimt on Tuesday.
The Premier League match on Saturday is part of a busy schedule that also includes City's Champions League final league phase match against Galatasaray on Wednesday.
After 22 games, second-place City is seven points behind Arsenal in the Premier League rankings.
