Disney is recreating Aladdin, with real people this time, in the same vein as Beauty and the Beast that featured Emma Watson.
Aladdin, the 1992 American animated musical fantasy film, produced by Walt Disney Features Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures, was the 31st Disney animated feature film and the fourth produced during the Disney film era known as the Disney Renaissance.
The film follows Aladdin, an Arabian street urchin, who finds a magic lamp containing a genie. In order to hide the lamp from the Grand Vizier, he disguises himself as a wealthy prince and tries to impress the Sultan and his daughter.
Walt Disney Studios is seemingly recreating the animation and has announced the release date to be the 24 May 2019. Aladdin stars Will Smith as the Genie, Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine and Massoud as Aladdin. Marwan Kenzari will play the villainous Jafar.
