GEN Z: SO LONG, SIDE PART
We’re in the middle of a pandemic, there are political matters creating tension and wars going on. Yet, Generation Z (those born after 1997) has highlighted a much more important matter: Side parts are gone, middle parts are here to stay.
Yes, this very important matter has gone viral, and has even created a rift between the millennials and Gen Z. Millennials, like the rest of us, are still into side parts, while Gen Z has given us a stern warning that middle parts are flattering on absolutely everybody. Also, while we’re getting rid of the side part, we might also want to throw out all our skinny jeans as well.
Skinny jeans and side parts? Come on, give us time to cope with the one big loss before you throw another at us.
On the skinny jeans topic… Gen Z weighed in on TikTok, saying that the style is no longer fashionable. Skinny jeans should be replaced with straight leg, boyfriend, mom jean or boot cut styles.
Is it just me or are we going back to the 90’s with style, and yet, a generation who wasn’t even born back then, are trying to get us back there?
The reactions to the side part debate has been hilarious as the older generation has weighed in on the matter. One TikTok user said that she was bullied for her middle part so she’ll never go back to it, while another said that she wants volume and a middle part simply can’t give her that.
