HARVARD SCIENTIST BELIEVES STRANGE OBJECT HEADING TO EARTH IS NOT NATURAL
People instantly wonder if it may be the work of alien beings whenever a large object passes through space and is spotted orbiting our small planet. Is that a UFO? Or just a regular space rock? For anything floating around in the abyss, they are typically the only two responses humans have. People wanted to know what 3I/ATLAS was when NASA identified it on July 1.
Unfortunately, there is a major reason why the scientific community is at conflict. One expert disagrees with the 200 or so researchers who have concluded that it is most likely just a comet. According to a report published by Harvard physicist Avi Loeb, the "comet" is lacking a significant marker. "There were reports of a tail," Loeb stated, adding, "but it is difficult to prevent artificial elongation of the image as a result of the object's velocity because 3I/ATLAS is accelerating and its current size is not much greater than the angular resolution of Earth-based telescopes."
He continued by raising concerns about its trajectory, which fits too well within the solar system, and its absence of gas emissions. Using his own 'Loeb Scale' to determine whether something is natural or artificial, he ended up giving 3I/ATLAS a six out of ten.
This score indicates that rather than being a naturally occurring force, it was probably created.
“I proposed a `Loeb Scale' for interstellar objects where `0' is unquestionably a natural object (comet or asteroid) and `10' is unquestionably a technical item (indicated by manoeuvres or emission of artificial light or signals),” the scientist wrote on his Medium blog. I now rate 3I/ATLAS a 6 on that scale, but as we gather more information and it approaches the Sun, my opinion will alter. One of his wilder theories is that it's some kind of mothership that has been dispatched to send probes to Earth.
