MINERS DISCOVER ONE OF A KIND HEART-SHAPED AMETHYST GEODE IN URUGUAY

For many decades loved ones has showed their love and affection by giving each other gems and minerals in the form of jewellery. 

Each gem has its own unique shape, size and colour making them even more special. One recent discovery in particular of a naturally occurring amethyst geode is definitely described as unique and can be seen as a symbol of love on its own seeing that it is shaped like a heart.

Uruguay Minerals made the unique discovery at the border of Uruguay and Brazil. When the mine workers broke open a rock it revealed the gorgeous colour and stone in the shape of a heart on either side. 

The miners had no idea that they were about to discover this lovely geode; in fact, they were struggling to get the excavation going. Marcos Lorenzelli of Uruguay Minerals explained that, “We were opening the mine to work normally, but the land was difficult to work and our employees said, ‘We have to find something really nice due to the hard work we are doing.’” And clearly after their hard work and patience the team was rewarded with a once-in-a-lifetime discovery.

Since the finding of the unusually shaped geode was shared with the world, the story has gone viral.
