Nicolas Cage was born in Long Beach, California, and acting, producing and directing ran in the family. This gave him the opportunity to gain experience, not to mention a foot in the door in the film-making industry.
Nicolas Cage aspired to become an actor from a very young age. By the time Cage was fifteen, he tried to convince his uncle to give him a screen test by telling him, "I'll show you acting".
Soon thereafter, Nicolas Cage had his film debut with a minor role in the movie Fast Times At Ridgemont High in 1982.
Since then, Nicolas Cage has worked his way up into becoming one of the worlds most recognisable Hollywood superstars. His most iconic roles in film include movies such as National Treasure, Con Air, Knowing, Ghost Rider, Face Off and Lord Of War.
Nicolas Cage continues to be incredibly successful in Hollywood, even after nearly 40 years in the industry, and still has movies in the pipeline.
