R.I.P LINKIN PARK'S CHESTER BENNINGTON

Yesterday, 20th July 2017, we received the devastating news about the reported death by suicide of Linken Park frontman Chester Bennington at age 41.

Bennington's body is reported to have been found in his private home in Palos Verdes, California LA County just before 9 am by an employee.

The LA County coroner has confirmed that cause of death was suicide by hanging.

Linkin Park was formed in 1996 and was one of the biggest and most influential rock bands of the 21st century with 2 Grammys. The band had just released a new album in May named "One More Light" and was supposed to go on a massive tour a week after the death of their frontman and lead singer.

The tragic death was confirmed by bandmate Mike Shinoda when he tweeted: "Shocked and heartbroken. But it's true".

Bennington was survived by his wife, Talinda Bennington, as well as his 6 children from two marriages.

Chester Bennington was always known to have confronted his demons as soon as he hit the microphone. Throughout his career, he openly discussed his struggle with depression, drug and alcohol abuse and sexual abuse that had happened to him as a child by an older male figure. Bennington had also openly said that, as a result of his struggles, suicide had crossed his mind.

The death of the star also falls on the same day that Chris Cornell (Soundgarden frontman and close friend of Bennington) would have turned 53 years old. Cornell had died two months ago due to suicide.

In an interview, Bennington described his thoughts about struggle and perspective: "We don't do things perfectly, obviously, and we're not always in the right perspective individually. But collectively, we seem to pull each other in. The thing is, if you're not having fun doing this, you're doing it wrong... Perspective is everything – the difference between going through an ordeal or going through an adventure".

It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to an incredible rock icon and role model.

RIP Chester Bennington (1976-2017) – taken too soon.
