STRUCTURES THAT DEFY GRAVITY
Take a look at these structures that appear to defy gravity.
Since as far back as civilisation goes, we have always been looking for new and innovative ways to build houses, structures and buildings. Some of which are mixed in with a bit of art, take Michelangelo for example, he is very well known for combining architecture with art during the renaissance period. However, the only downside of architecture during that time was access to modern building technology, but what they managed to build back then with what they had is truly amazing!
With the advancement of modern building technology, building architects are able to design more freely and express their artistic side more openly, and still guarantee a sturdy and rigid structure that will excel in modern building safety requirements.
Some structures that show evidence of this include the ArtScience Museum and Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, the Shard in London, as well as the incredible Burj Khalifa and the soon-coming Dynamic Rotating Tower in Dubai.
So the future of creative and artistic buildings has a strong and bright future for architects around the world.
