An aspiring student has been surprised by popstar Taylor Swift, with a donation to make her university dreams come true.
London based Vitoria Mario recently completed her A levels and was accepted to study mathematics at the respected Warwick University in the United Kingdom but was unable to afford her tertiary fees.
The 18-year-old opened a Go Fund Me page, stating that she has lived in the UK for four years after migrating from Portugal to live with her family in Tottenham.
"The socio-economic barriers of not being eligible for maintenance loans/grants is due not only to not having 'Home' status, but also because my family are low income, and unable to help me self-fund through university."
And then one of the world’s biggest pop stars turned things around for the aspiring mathematician.
People magazine reports that Swift left the following comment alongside her donation of £23 000:
"Vitoria, I came across your story online and am so inspired by your drive and dedication turning your dreams into reality. I want to gift you the rest of your goal amount. Good luck with everything you do! Love, Taylor."
Thanks to Taylor Swift, Vitoria reached her fund goal.
