TESLA TEQUILA SOLD OUT IN MINUTES
He is known for making cars, rocket ships, pay gates, and underground tunnels, but alcohol?
Well, it seems as if booze is Elon Musk’s latest venture and, if the fact that Tesla tequila sold out within hours since its launch is anything to go by, then it is yet another successful venture by the South African born tech mogul.
Back in April 2018, Musk made a joke and tweeted that Tesla is one month away from bankruptcy after rumours were doing the rounds that he will have to close shop soon.
In the April Fools' joke tweet, he mentioned "Teslaquila" as a joke. That joke soon turned into a challenge and the next thing you know, he is selling Tesla Tequila at $250 a bottle.
On Tesla’s official website, where the tequila sold out in minutes, it says that Tesla tequila is an exclusive, small-batch premium 100% de agave tequila anejo made from sustainably sourced highland and lowland agaves.
The website goes on to say that it is aged for 15 months in French oak barrels and then poured into a hand-blown glass bottle. Tesla tequila has a dry fruit and light vanilla nose, with a balanced cinnamon pepper finish.
Currently, delivery only takes place in the United States, and only in states where the delivery of alcohol is allowed.
While deliveries are only expected to take place late in December, we’re sure those lucky enough to have bought a lightning-shaped bottle, will have something to drink when they ring in the new year.
Cheers Elon!
