THE 2020 EMMY NOMINATIONS
Every year around this time, actors from our favourite TV shows find out if they’ve been nominated for a Primetime Emmy – the Oscars of the TV world.
This year, more so than ever before, there will be a huge public interest in the award show as the COVID-19 global pandemic has forced most people to stay at home and ultimately, we all ended up watching more TV.
The nominations were announced on Tuesday the 28th of July.
The Emmys also include shows on streaming services like Netflix and Apple TV.
Even though she starred in three of the biggest dramas over the last year, Reese Witherspoon was snubbed and didn’t receive even one nomination for her performance in Big Little Lies, Little Fires Everywhere or The Morning Show. She also produced all three series.
Her fellow actors in The Morning Show, Kerry Washington and Steve Carell, were both nominated for their performance in the series that focuses on the controversial Me Too movement.
Actress Laura Linney and actor Jason Batemen who both star in Ozark, were nominated for their leading roles in this drama series.
The nominees in the category Outstanding Comedy Series are:
