THE BIG BANG THEORY SAYS GOODBYE IN 2019
Warner Bros & CBS have announced the comedy series, The Big Bang Theory, will end in 2019 with the 12th season being their last – and we don't know about you guys but this makes us sad.
In a joint statement, Warner Bros. Television, CBS, and Chuck Lorre Productions said: "We are forever grateful to our fans for their support of The Big Bang Theory during the past twelve seasons. We, along with the cast, writers, and crew, are extremely appreciative of the show's success and aim to deliver a final season, and the series finale, that will bring The Big Bang Theory to an epic creative close."
The Big Bang Theory reportedly cost the network around $10 million per episode to produce and since it premiered – Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar – have each been earning about $1 million per episode since season eight. It's clearly worth the cost when it still pulls a live audience of more than 19 million people each week, and syndication revenue has brought in more than $1 billion for Warner Bros. TV, making it an ever-worthwhile investment.
The final of The Big Bang Theory season will debut September 24th.
