TOM CRUISE PROHIBITED FROM PURCHASING A BUGATTI FOR LIFE
While it would undoubtedly be one of the easier missions ever given to Tom Cruise's character Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible, Cruise would find it to be one of the most difficult. It's not like the movie star lacks the resources to purchase a high-end vehicle for himself. Hell, he could buy a whole fleet with his estimated net worth of about $600 million. Instead, Cruise faces the roadblock of having been banned from ever purchasing one. If Bugatti weren't one of the most well-known automakers in the world, this might not be such a huge deal, but because it is, its ban is somewhat more significant. The French automaker is renowned for producing some of the fastest vehicles on the planet, but it is also well-known for enforcing strict guidelines for its customers. Owners are advised to replace their tyres every 10,000 miles in addition to having to pay roughly $21,000 for annual maintenance, which is more than the price of many cars on the market. According to MotorTrend, the price of the vehicles varies from $3 million to $12.5 million; however, as I've already indicated, Cruise isn't being constrained by the cost of purchasing a Bugatti. The reason for his ban stems from an incident that happened in 2006 and has followed him around ever since. It all began at the Mission Impossible 3 movie premiere when Cruise was seen appearing to have difficulty opening the passenger side door of his Bugatti Veyron, which held Katie Holmes, his ex-wife, waiting to be released. Although Holmes did eventually make it out of the car and onto the red carpet, Bugatti was drawn to the high-profile mishap.
Cruise was banned for life after it was decided that the awkward incident was too embarrassing for the supercar manufacturer to ever allow to happen again. But don't feel too sorry for Cruise; he's not the only one in the "banned from Bugatti" club. Stars like Flo Rida, Simon Cowell, Floyd "Money" Mayweather, and Jenson Button, the 2009 Formula One World Champion, have all been permanently barred from owning a Bugatti for various reasons. Fortunately, Cruise has found comfort in other high-end auto brands, such as Mustangs, BMWs, and Chevrolets, all of which have at some point found a place in his garage.
