Since as far back as historians have been keeping records, humans have been trying to be better than everyone else, well, at pretty much anything.

It was only in the 1950s though, that the managing director of a brewery in the UK decided to compile a book to end all pub arguments. The gentleman's name was Sir Hugh Beaver and his business was called the Guinness Brewery.

That very first book went on to sell over 50 000 copies in its first year and became a best-seller in the UK. It was the start of a publication which would become world renown and, within a few years, the go-to-guide for all things record-breaking.

It was called The Guinness World Records.

60 years later and things are still going strong. One of the most impressive features of this incredible publication though is that it's not just about Usain Bolt being the fastest man across 100 metres, or Manchester United winning the most Premier Leagues in football. Nope, it's got some incredible, weird and sometimes silly records in there too.

So, without adieu, here's a video of the 15 most insane Guinness World Records to date, and some of them are just crazy.

Like the lady who shoots crossbows with her feet, or the dude who covered himself in bees, or the guy who did a belly-flop into 30cm's of water from nearly 12 metres up.

The highest free-jump was nearly 60 metres high off a cliff into a freshwater pool, that guy reached an incredible 123km/h by the time he hit the water.
