VIDEO: AMERICANS TRY THE DRINK THAT MAKES YOU SEE LITTLE GREEN FAIRIES
Absinthe is an alcoholic beverage that is spoken about all over the world and has many rumours attached to it.
The first Absinthe was actually made by a French doctor in Switzerland who distilled wormwood and other herbs in alcohol as a remedy for his patients. Absinthe shifted from its traditional medicinal purpose to the preferred drink among the rich in France. In the 1870s just about everyone was drinking Absinthe and the craze had spread across Europe. The drink was served by adding a lump of sugar and a bit of water to the Absinthe.
The alcohol concentration of Absinthe ranges from 45% to 89,9% and despite rumors of the drink causing hallucinations, there have been no reports that prove that it actually does. People have reported feeling clear-headed or experiencing lucid drunkness. A team of Americans wanted to test it for themselves to see what the effects really were. Aside from the usual effects of alcohol, there were some unusual additional effects such as heaviness of the eyelids and strange feelings in their limbs.
They definitely had fun with it, to say the least!
