VIDEO: DO COMPANIES THINK RACISM SELLS?
It seems large corporations aren't doing such a good job on their advertising these days and, almost every week, we hear about a new advertising scandal – whether it be racist or sexist, they just don't seem to be able to get it right. A couple of months ago H&M made the headlines for their jacket that said "coolest monkey in the jungle", and Dove before that came out with their soap ad with a woman unzipping herself to reveal a different race underneath, now Heineken takes centre stage.
See, this one is a bit confusing because we are unsure as to how anyone would be able to miss the blatant point in this ad, and who actually approves this to go live? The public is not happy about it but, as Trevor Noah does and always will do, he likes to take his naughty sense of humour and apply it to these kinds of situations. He even provides Heineken with a solution!
What do you think of the ad?
