VIDEO: DR KEN JEONG (MR CHOW) LEAPS OFF STAGE TO HELP AN AUDIENCE MEMBER IN TROUBLE
Ken Jeong, the 48-year-old actor best known for playing crazy Spanish teacher, Ben Chang, on Community, and insane naked mobster, Mr Chow, in The Hangover, decided to diversify his role a while back by taking the role of a Doctor in the sitcom, Dr Ken, which is a semi-biographical show of him beginning his career as a doctor. Who knew!
His doctor skills kicked in on Saturday when he dived off the stage during a stand-up performance to an audience member's aid after he noticed she was having a seizure.
The comedian's publicist, Michelle Margolis, confirmed Jeong's heroic reactions and Heather Holmberg, a Phoenix resident who was in the audience said: "It’s a wonderful story. It was such perfect timing: Ken just jumped from the stage to help." says Holmberg, noting that the woman appeared to be having a seizure. An EMT in the audience also jumped out of his seat to give quick assistance. When the group of people sitting near her began calling out for Jeong during his performance, he originally thought that they were trying to heckle him and the bright lights clouded his vision of the group but then saw they were calling him for help to which he responded by jumping off stage.
Jeong stayed with the woman until ambulances arrived to assist her and then came back on stage to finish his show where he was re-welcomed with a huge round of applause from the audience. Many audience members took to social media to applaud him for the gracious way he handled the situation.
Now he really can ask: "But did you die", Mr Chow style!
