VIDEO: EMBRACE YOUR DARK SIDE WITH VENOM
It seems to be Marvel season at the moment as Venom, an upcoming American superhero film is set to be released in October and it looks like something out of a nightmare.
The movie is based on a comic spin-off from the Spider-Man films and first began with producer Avi Arad in 2007. Work on a new version began in March 2017 to tie in with the new shared universe of Marvel characters.
Tom Harding plays the role of Eddie Brock who is eventually consumed by Venom. Eddie Brock is a renowned antagonist of Spider-Man in the Marvel world and appeared in the 2007 film Spider-Man 3. The character played a minor role that did not extend its versatility to show his alter-ego, Venom. This was eventually changed to a major villain role because Arad felt the series had relied too much on previous director, Sam Raimi's, personal favorite Spider-Man villains, failing to explore other characters that fans may be interested in. Raimi had been hesitant at first to explore the character due to his "lack of humanity" but eventually worked the story and began filming on the 23rd of October 2017.
The trailers shows the movie off to be action-packed, full of... Tom Hardy (for the girls who get dragged to the movies) and of course, who doesn't love a bit of a confused super villain?
