There is no denying that functional training is a great way to work up a sweat, burn those calories and work all parts of the body. But at the same time, is picking up a 100kg weight really that functional? I mean how many 100kg items do we pick up in one day?
Poking fun at functional trainers is almost a right of training passage because it seems they never fail to tell bodybuilders that their training is just useless despite the fact that they both have the same end goal – to look good and feel fit and strong. I mean, who wouldn't do 100 box jumps in one session just to climb 5 stairs to get to work – and kettlebells? Well, they are a must-have if you want to make your life more difficult and uncomfortable considering you're able to do the same exercises with other weights.
