VIDEO: IF INTERVIEWERS WERE ACTUALLY HONEST

If you think about it from a realistic (or possibly pessimistic) point of view, all interviews are completely made up of facades, lies and pretending.

The person being interviewed is probably pretending to be way more impressive than they actually are, in hopes of getting the job.

And the interviewer is definitely pretending to give a shit – even when they really don't.

In most cases, an interviewer decides whether or not to hire you within minutes. And yet they continue to talk to you for 30 minutes – forcing both of you to put on a fake smile!

They do this to be polite, encouraging and kind. But they mostly do it so that their boss thinks they are taking it all seriously.

But what if the interviewers were honest? What if they just said what they wanted to say, like: I've already decided not to hire you, but let's continue talking to make this seem like it's not a complete waste of time for both of us.

Well, interviews would definitely become scarier but, to be fair, would save a lot of your time and wishful thinking.
