Shoes make or break an outfit and a good pair of heels is essential to an equally fantastic dress. But this may not always be the case as some cultures have traditional shoes that may not compliment a dress... or any outfit for that matter. Some are just plain weird. Take the Cantabrian Albarcas, a shoe with not one, but three heels, which already sounds completely uncomfortable until you realise it's now made of wood! Good luck to anyone trying to spend the whole night in those!

If you thought those toe-seperating shoes looked awful, you ain't seen nothing yet! The Jika-tabi Japanese shoe has one split between the big toes and the rest, comes halfway up the ankle and are made of thick, rubber souls for outdoor wear with a steel toe just to protect your awkwardly separated toes. We think our Nike's will do the same job but thanks anyway!
