VIDEO: KAT VON D'S STRANGE AND DARK WEDDING
Kat Von D hasn't ever been conventional, broke out of her traditional, religious roots from a young age, inking her first tattoo at the age of 16 much to her parent's disapproval. Kat Von D and her now husband, Leafar Seyer (Rafael Reyes) have been spreading the love on their Instagram accounts, showing the world their goth love and sharing the exciting news about their engagement and pregnancy announcement. The big day finally came on Saturday when the couple got married in possibly the most stylish gothic way imaginable.
Their wedding invitations were cut into skull shape box with a beautifully decorated calligraphy writing in gold that was designed by Kat herself. The wedding was held at The Beverly Hills Hotel with a heaven-and-hell-themed ceremony finished off with the lavish red decor. The main area was lit up in crimson red decorated with skull, bones, creepy-looking melting candles all designed by Biren and Co. The bar area held the heaven theme (obviously), with white furniture and drapes.
Kat obviously didn't go with the traditional white wedding dress and instead decided to wear a red dress designed by Adolfo Sanchez featuring a dramatic train, full sleeves, and a cape. Sanchez took to Instagram to show off his latest creation saying: "Not only are they the coolest couple but they are also the most grounded and real people I have met! Congrats @prayers and @thekatvond On your special day. Thank you for not only having me bring a part of your bridal look to life but also thank you for having me at your wedding."
The couple served a castle-shaped red velvet wedding cake (how fitting) featuring a projected GIF of themselves which was vegan of course as Kat is a well-known advocate for veganism and anti-cruelty products. Kat performed a version of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ “Into My Arms” on a scarlet grand piano during the ceremony. The guests were gifted with black lipstick with flecks of gold glitter, exclusively for the wedding so no one else can buy it.
Just before the wedding, Von D shared a snap of three scarlet carnations tied together with a velvet ribbon along with a touching caption about her special day. "Such a beautifully emotional day today. This has been the sweetest, most stress-free experience where we continuously fell in love with each other all over again with each day counting down. This is a photo of 3 carnations that our dear friends @majestyblack brought us tonight after our rehearsal and soundcheck.
"Red carnations are @prayers favourite flower, and the 3 represent him, me, and our sweet baby boy we are adding to our family.
"All I can say right now is that i am so grateful for my dear friends, and for my sweet husband. Lastly, thank you all for all the love and for understanding that starting tomorrow we will most likely be stepping away from our phones for a while to be as present as possible on such a beautiful day.
