We've all seen our old high school science teacher lighting a lithium strip that shines a beautiful purple colour, or the small explosion from lighting a bit of gas. But, this team of scientists bring science experiments to a whole new level.

Although some of these may not be ideal to try at home, most of them are relatively simple. Some of them only require a candle and a lighter – which makes for a great party trick to impress your friends.

But, have you ever seen someone fill their hand with a liquid concoction that includes butane and light it? This experiment will make you feel like the real flamethrower and allow you to literally hold fire without burning your hand! Just don't try this in the shower because it may not work as well on your whole body...

Got a friends birthday but no time to go buy helium balloons? Don't worry! Drain clear and foil will sort that out, just light the candles AWAY from the balloons to avoid any fiery explosions. If you are ever stranded in the middle of nowhere and just, by some very strange coincidence, happen to have pool chlorine with you, drain your brake fluid, add some chlorine and voila! Instant bonfire.

If you want to freak people out on Halloween, the fire snake is just for you. strategically placing some lighter fluid on the sand with a bit of sweet and spice will make it look like something is literally growing out of the sand!

These are awesome experiments to test out yourself, just do them in a non–flammable area and preferably not with pyromaniacs! Get your fire extinguishers ready and let's go!
