VIDEO: THE BEST AB EXERCISE THAT WILL HAVE YOU CRACKING UP IN NO TIME
The yoga craze has grown dramatically over the years and diversified into different methods of the body-bending exercise. While it is supposed to promote relaxation, its definitely one hell of a workout, especially in a room with the heat cranked up and the humidity sitting at 40 percent.
Once basically every type of yoga had been exhausted, people went one step further to create laughing yoga, involving long sessions of voluntary laughter. Its supposedly beneficial because it triggers the same hormones and psychological benefits as spontaneous laughter.
It's generally practiced in groups due to the fact that laughing can be contagious, turning forced laughter into real laughter. The session starts off with gentle warm-up techniques which include stretching, chanting, clapping, eye contact and body movement, to help break down inhibitions and encourage a sense of playfulness. Breathing exercises are used to prepare the lungs for laughter, followed by a series of ‘laughter exercises’ that combine the method of acting and visualisation techniques with playfulness. Laughter exercises are interspersed with breathing exercises.
It's pretty interesting to watch a laughter yoga session play out and it may even make you giggle! Check it out and let us know if you would try something like this!
