VIDEO: THE LEANING TOWER OF PISA IS INDESTRUCTIBLE!

The greatest mystery in history has officially been solved! Ok, maybe not the greatest mystery because we would like to know where the Bermuda Triangle leads, but it's still a pretty big deal!

Scientists have discovered how the Leaning Tower of Pisa is able to stand at its slightly skew angle AND survive multiple earthquakes without budging. Basically, the soft soil on which the tower stands which initially caused it to lean is actually holding it in place. The phenomenon is called dynamic soil-structure interaction (DSSI). Essentially, due to the unusually impressive interaction between the height of the tower (55 meters), soft soil in which it is fastened, and the rigidity of the marble making up a large part of the structure, the tower has vibration characteristics that limit its vibration when seismic waves that cause the earthquake pass through the earth.

Basically, nothing will move the Leaning Tower of Pisa, which means people will be taking the classing "holding up the Tower" photos forever! But the fun comes in when trolls take the opportunity to get a free high-five from unsuspecting tourists!
