VIDEO: THE PLACES THAT EXIST IN YOUR ANIMATED DREAMS ARE REAL!
Not all Pixar animations come from the colorful imaginations. Sometimes the imagination needs a little inspiration as well. These places are proof that the creative geniuses got some inspiration for films from real–life places.
1. Monterey Bay Aquarium - The eerily dark blue rooms in the aquarium was used to model the Marine Life Institute in Finding Dory.
2. The beautiful mountains of Venezuela were used as an inspiration for Paradise Falls in the movie Up.
3. The Ornament Valley in Cars was based on an art piece in Texas called Cadillac Ranch.
4. It's pretty obvious that Inside Out was based in San Francisco because of the many famous landmarks that appear in the movie.
5. The strong, jolly sounding accents of the characters in Brave gave away the fact that the landscape was based upon multiple locations in Scotland.
6. The massive halls of the Monsters University were based on some of the most prestigious universities like Harvard and Berkley.
7. The street chase that occurs in The Incredibles is based on an actual street by Pixar's campus in California.
8. The Good Dinosaur is based on the Red Desert in Wyoming.
9. And of course, if there is gourmet food to be made, it has to be made in Paris which is where Ratatoullie is based. An authentic looking Eiffel Tower can even be seen out the window in many of the scenes of the movie.
So, it seems, Disney dreams do come true!
