WHY ELON MUSK SLEEPS AT HIS FACTORIES
He’s the richest man in the world.
In. The. World.
He could sleep in any of the seven- or eight-star hotels anywhere on the planet, yet he often chooses to sleep at one of his factories… on the floor.
Yes, of course, it could only be Elon Musk. Only he could be this strange to choose a conference room couch above a comfy bed.
When he visited his new Tesla factory in Berlin last year, he slept in a conference room in the not yet finished factory just to get "a good feel of what’s going on". We can just imagine that we’d be able to get a good feel of what’s going on in a factory from doing a quick tour and then sleeping in the luxury of a hotel bed, but that’s just us.
Why does he do this though? Well, he says it’s because things often get so busy that he doesn’t have time to go home, shower, get dressed and go back to the factory. He has also been quoted as saying that he wants to suffer more than his employees.
His hands-on attitude has proven to be successful as Tesla’s production rate has increased significantly, as has its share price. According to Newsthink, Tesla is now the most valuable car company in the world.
Well, if it takes sleeping on a conference room couch to become the richest person in the world, we’re definitely not saying no just yet.
