ELLEN DEGENERES CALLS IT QUITS ON HER SHOW
The end of an era is ahead of us. Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, has announced that season 19 of her award-winning talk show will be the last one.
This was announced during a recording of one of her season 18 episodes.
The comedian has been known for having the most famous people in the world on her show, including former US president Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, Hollywood’s favourite actors, and even fellow talk show host, Oprah Winfrey.
Even South African rapper, Nasty C, appeared on this long-running daytime show in February 2021.
For years, DeGeneres was one of the most popular people on television, with millions of viewers all over the world. Things started to go pear shape when Dakota Johnson called the host out for lying about not being invited to her party while appearing on her show.
The interview was awkward, and it was evident that DeGeneres tried her best to save it.
It turned out, she missed the party because she was attending a sports event in Texas while sitting alongside former US president, George W. Bush.
After that, things just got out of hand when a few Hollywood actors, like Mark Ruffalo, slammed her for spreading kindness in the wrong way. Fellow comedian, Kevin T. Porter, shared his negative experience with her on Twitter and invited others to share theirs as well. There were thousands of replies.
And it just got worse. In 2020, as if the year wasn’t bad enough already, Ellen was called out for being a horrible boss when bullying was uncovered among her production crew.
With a lot of people having turned against the comedian, it could be the best time to say goodbye. Her timing is pretty great.
Well, so much for kindness.
