Police have disclosed what they discovered during a raid on a Chinese restaurant, which turned up a shocking substitute for "roast duck." We have all liked Chinese restaurants for a long time, and you expect what you order off the menu to be exactly what it says. However, after authorities received several complaints, Jin Gu in Madrid, Spain's Usera district, was searched at the end of March.
The restaurant was then shut down and was noted to have violated numerous health codes. The police claim to have discovered a kitchen infested with cockroaches and that the products, including fish and meat, were not properly labelled. It "smelled like rotten fish; it was almost unpleasant," they told El Mundo. Along with the startling discovery of street pigeons that had been plundered of their feathers and utilised for their duck meal, they also discovered rat traps on the floor. According to El Mundo, the restaurant employees are accused of hunting pigeons in the street and "kicking them to death."
It was also discovered that the company license did not include a door that led to a hidden storage area beneath a shelf in the disabled restroom. Officers then discovered eight refrigerators containing untraceable fish and unlabeled beef. Additionally, thermometers—which are required by law in Spain to measure the temperatures of storage areas—were not present on the property. The restaurant was ordered to close as a result of the results, and the owner is currently being investigated for alleged crimes against consumer rights, public health, and animal cruelty. There were 300 kg of "rotten food," according to other local reports, and meat was discovered hanging on a clothesline to dry.
Additionally, they discovered a grease-covered fan, a fire extinguisher that was improperly placed since it was not at the minimum height permitted, and garbage cans blocking emergency doors. Surprisingly, people have reportedly been complaining to the authorities about the restaurant's food and behaviour for a while, so this isn't the first report about it. One individual informed the Spanish media, "None of us ate there." "We observed food brought in on a cart and left at the entrance in broad daylight, and it smells horrible."
Despite the restaurant's 4.2-star Google rating, the roast duck was reportedly bony. "The duck I think is a little dry and has lots of bones, not that tasty," they posted five years ago. In light of the plucked pigeons found on site, it’s a little disturbing to see the comment now.
